Katsuki Bakugou already has a quirk powerful enough to make him one of U.A.'s most promising-and destructive-students.

He never needed another one.

During what should have been a routine field evaluation, Bakugou crosses paths with a wounded stranger being hunted by people who seem willing to tear apart anything standing between them and their target.

Then the stranger touches him.

And leaves something behind.

Whatever was transferred into Bakugou isn't a quirk anyone recognizes. It doesn't behave like one. It doesn't follow the rules U.A. understands, and with every passing day, it becomes harder to ignore just how powerful it could become.

But the power isn't the only thing changing.

For reasons neither of them understands, Shoto Todoroki is becoming necessary.

His presence quiets something inside Bakugou. His control strengthens it. Separation makes it worse. What begins as an unexplained reaction slowly becomes something neither boy can simply walk away from-and the harder the people around them try to understand, control, or sever it, the more violently the thing inside Bakugou seems to resist.
