Dressed for the Spotlight

From the moment Emberlynn Beckett could reach into her closet, she knew clothes meant something.

Fashion was never simply about looking pretty to Emberlynn. It was storytelling. It was confidence. It was creativity. It was a way to take something ordinary and turn it into something completely her own. Her obsession started innocently enough with her beloved Bratz dolls. She could spend hours changing their outfits, creating imaginary wardrobes, styling them for nonexistent events, and deciding exactly which shoes went with which outfit.

Everyone assumed it was just a childhood phase.

It wasn't.

As Emberlynn grew older, her fascination with fashion only became stronger. She began paying attention to runway shows, magazines, designers, styling trends, celebrity looks, and the stories behind the clothes. Her brother, Malachi, only made the fashion world feel even closer. The two were the same age, and Malachi happened to have the kind of looks that made people immediately notice him. He could easily have been a model, and eventually that became part of his life.

Emberlynn loved watching her brother step in front of cameras.

But somewhere along the way, she realized something important.

She didn't want to be the person in the picture. She wanted to tell the story behind it.

That realization led Emberlynn toward fashion journalism.

Writing had slowly become another passion of hers, and when she discovered that she could combine writing and fashion into an actual career, everything clicked. She decided that college would be her next step toward becoming a fashion journalist, majoring in Fashion Journalism with a minor in Marketing.

She arrives at Briar determined to make something of herself.

She's ambitious. She's creative. She's organized. She's stylish. She's the girl who somehow manages to have an outfit planned three days in advance and still carries an emergency fashion kit in her bag.
