Contraindicated

Dr. Kavyaan Kaul and Dr. Preesha Luthra have known each other for almost thirty years.

Unfortunately, familiarity has never made them like each other.

Childhood rivals. Medical-school competitors. Now two brilliant surgeons working under the same hospital roof, constantly arguing over cases, protocols and who is more insufferable.

Preesha is also engaged.

So when a rural medical camp leaves her and Kavyaan stranded overnight while treating a patient, the rumours that follow should have been nothing more than background noise.

Until her fiancé and his family turn those rumours into humiliation.

Until they question her character.

Until Kavyaan loses his temper.

And with blood from his own injured hand, marks the parting of Preesha's hair in front of everyone.

Including her fiancé.

One furious moment. One irreversible gesture. One slap immediately afterward.

But the real problem begins when Preesha's engagement starts cracking under the weight of everything it was always hiding-control, expectations, reputation and a family that liked her title more than the woman wearing it.

Kavyaan and Preesha were never supposed to make sense.

He is precision. She is instinct.

He is silence. She is chaos.

They have spent a lifetime knowing exactly how to get under each other's skin.

But hatred becomes complicated when trust runs deeper than affection ever did.

And sometimes, the most contraindicated thing in the room is the one you choose anyway.
