My feet slapped against the pavement, moving closer to the girl wrapped in her soaked sweatshirt. The constant waves of rainfall blinded my vision, but her figure stuck out to me more than anything else. My hands locked onto her arms, spinning her towards me making her stop in her tracks. Tear streaks scarred her cheeks, her hood tried to cover the fear. I used my thumbs to wipe away the fresh tears. I tried to calm her trembling body. "Please don't do this. Talk to me." I pleaded, bringing her frozen hands to my lips. I kissed them softly, and she shook her head. "This will not happen again, not by the time I'm finished with him. The next time I see him-" She slowly covered my mouth with one hand, looking at me with her deep blue eyes under the moonlight. "Just kiss me." She asked, a desperate but loneliness in her voice. I stared at her, wondering if I should make that first move. She looked down at our feet. "It will remind me of how beautiful the world can be." She whispered softly. A smile spreads across my lips at her words, amazed by how her thoughts are so careful, so detailed and beautiful. Just like her, the Charlie I knew. I carefully cupped her cheeks with both of my hands, bringing her lips to mine.
