They say fairy tales have the best endings. The prince marries the beautiful mistress and she escapes the clutches of her evil stepmother and domineering step sisters...so they say. I think some stories are sugar coated (Like how mine should have been) to deceive the young folk and put a glimmer of hope in everyone's eye. I wish I had just lost a glass slipper or fallen into a deep sleep to find the man of my dreams or escape to a whole new world on a magic carpet ride, but like I said, fairy tales are not as they seem. One must be careful of the choices he or she makes and I was certainly...not...careful.

You have a pretty girl who, who always has an enemy, girl gets caught in the enemy trap, strong person defeats the monster and saves the girl. Happily ever after. The end. Roll credits. But here's the thing, you never see what happened to the villains, you never hear their side of the story, their backstory that caused them to do what they did. Maybe they were banished from the land, that's why they put Sleeping Beauty under a curse that made them sleep for a hundred years. Or maybe their family pressured them into think beauty is everything and they must be the most beautiful in the land to finally get the approval that they did something good, maybe that's why they poisoned Snow White to take her beauty. What if they just wanted to get revenge for Peter Pan taking their most valuable treasure, that meant more to them in the entire world, maybe that's why they had a growing vendetta over Peter Pan. There are many other reasons why villains did what they did, but, did these heroes ever consider that these villains had a family. Like how maybe Gaston might have had a kid who had to grow up with only one parent cause the Beast killed Gaston. Or maybe how Dr. Facilier might have had a daughter, but since he was locked in the shadow realm he never got to have that valuable father-daughter relationship with her. What if Disney is hiding something from us. The story of these kids who had to grow up without a parent or with the burden of being teased because of their lineage. Well, Disney, you may be good at making giant Marvel timelines and making us cry at the end of EVERY Disney Pixar movie. But I'm good at revealing your secrets. Everyone is destined to play out a role in a tale, a random magical story which is decided for you by the "Tale-Master". For as long as she can remember Dawn has wanted to be the princess, her sister Luna doesn't care what she becomes, as long as she isn't the centre of attention. Unfortunately, things go awry when Luna becomes the princess and Dawn is forced to be a common peasant, much to her disgust. Both girls end up running away from their roles. I Am Not Cinderella
You all know the story of Cinderella. The story of how she was a servant with an evil step-mother and step-sisters. Remember how she went to a ball and fell in love with the prince. After the ball Cinderella tried on a glass slipper and married the prince. Well, this isn't your typical Cinderella story. This is a tale of how a lowly blacksmith's apprentice fell in love with a Princess; a Princess who wasn't a typical Princess. This Princess loved anything to do with sporting and fighting while her parents wanted her to be more like her cousin Cinderella. Defying Fate
Please don't read this, I wrote it in middle school and it's really bad. I just don't want to delete it because some people might get mad at me ;-; Maybe someday I will rewrite it. "What kind of fairytale is this? Where's the happy ending?" The little girl, approximately 7 years old, asked her mother. "That's what I wanted to teach you May, you should know now, that life isn't always going to have a good end. Bad things are going to happen, and if you play them off and ignore them, it will only worsen," May's mother explained. There once was a prince, who fell in love with a girl. But she wasn't a princess. She was the hand maiden of a nobleman's daughter, who had eyes for the young prince. The prince and girl fell in love, but couldn't be together, for the nobleman's daughter grew jealous when she found out, and ordered them to be killed. This story was called "The Lover's Curse." As it passed down, generation through generation, it became known as only a legend, a myth. I related myself to the perfection called Cinderella when my Dad got married to the witch Margaret, when she brought in her evil daughters to our house, when my dad left for business trips and forgot he had a daughter. So, I grew up listening to the same old story of Cinderella and its many versions. All of these versions had one thing in common. She was drop dead gorgeous. I was not. Chances of an XXL Princess to meet her prince charming are almost Nil. But As the story goes, All It takes is one night. Just one single night that could destroy your fairytale.
