Sarina Stark has spent half her life learning how to live with the things Hydra left behind.

Rescued at sixteen, raised by Tony and Pepper Stark, and eventually becoming an Avenger, she thought she had finally escaped the organization that stole her childhood.

When the Avengers are sent on what should be a routine mission, Sarina walks straight into a trap designed specifically for her. A single bullet changes everything, awakening powers she thought she understood and leaving her with no idea what Hydra has done to her.

And then Tony gives Bucky Barnes one order: Get her out, run, and keep her safe.

Stranded together hundreds of miles from home, Sarina and Bucky have no choice but to trust each other while Hydra closes in around them.

At first, they're nothing more than two people trying to survive. Two stubborn, wounded souls who have more in common than either of them realizes.

But somewhere between long drives, sleepless nights, arguments, and the quiet moments neither of them knows what to do with, something begins to change.

The man Sarina once thought hated her slowly becomes the person she feels safest beside.

And Bucky Barnes finds himself wanting something he hasn't allowed himself to want in a very long time.

Maybe surviving Hydra will be the easy part.
