Seventeen-year-old Faye Winslow is a rising star in the Swedish figure skating world with dreams of competing at the European-Championship's But when her family suddenly relocates to a small-town upstate New York for her mother's job. Faye's entire world is thrown off balance with no elite training facilities nearby and a strong motivation to keep skating Faye resigns herself to taking a break from competition her new school feels suffocatingly small, and the local rink is outdated and used mostly for hockey games she starts to feel like the skater everyone expected great things from is slipping away that is until she meets Damien Blackwood a hockey player recovering from a knee injury Damien is cocky, charming, and entirely uninterested in figure skating until Faye challenges him to a race across the ice the two strike up a unlikely friendship and Faye starts to train Damien in basic skating techniques in exchange for his help navigating small town life.
