Serendipity doesn't lie in the fate of Fiona, a 20 year old living with her abusive mother on the outskirts of New York City. When she has time alone from her stressful family she enjoys writing in her small journal, entwined with a overly-romantic and intriguing novel that lets her escape from reality.
Little did she know that her story would become entwined with her own reality.
In this short story, Fiona goes on a roller coaster of confusion, familiar strangers, adventure, unpreventable admiration, and an experience that will begin an action filled journey, to lighten her otherwise drab life.

Serenity begins to adjust to her new home with help from Asher the boy that lives under her, and who she has unexplained feelings for, and her best friend Kassandra. She begins to walk through life knowing that just when you think it's the end of your story you begin to learn it's only the beginning. All that's left to wonder is will life remain this perfect forever? Then in 1955 just as her life seemed to be going perfectly things feel apart in a matter of hours. Once again 18 year old Serenity finds her life falling apart. As she's driving home to South Carolina she discovers she's in love with her long time boyfriend Asher. Who only hours later of this discovery proposes to her. Life couldn't have going better until she realizes she loves him but that she isn't ready for commitment,at least not yet. When she tells Asher how she feels about the engagement they call it all off. Serenity spends the next few years of her life trying to figure out true happiness without someone to hold her hand.
