Dean has left Sam to skip out on the research that needs to be done. Sam knows better. Sam talks to Cas about Dean and insist that he talk to him. At the same time Sam knows he has to take matters into his own hands and asks for help from an old friend.
I had a bigger idea for this but I'll let it slide for now. Maybe I'll add a second part to it.
