    "You will do well to learn wishes do not come true, Ami. Wishes are just children's foolish beliefs." I sobbed. I knew he was cruel. I knew he was not human. I knew he'd never help me. "That won't stop me from wishing. Nothing will stop me from wishing." I ran to my room, and slammed the door shut. It was a long time until I fell asleep, but when I did, my dreams were nothing more then nightmares. But when I woke up, the real nightmare began.

    Ami was born a halfbreed. She is the daughter of a human, and of a shinigami. A death god. She thought she would be fine despite that, what with her parents disagreeing over everything and her not seeing her father, until her mother's sudden illness forces her to live with her father. However, living with her father brings the fears both her and her mother had. Ami suddenly has strange powers, some that make everyone believe she is more then just a Death God-Human breed.
