The Other Side of the Wings

Lana is tired of the Warriors of Justice. So tired, in fact, that she goes to the 'dark side' and vows to kill their leader. Now, SHE is the antagonist... and the Warrior's worst nightmare.
"The human raises its arms and a scuffing sound alerts me to another presence. In one, swift, fluid motion, I slash at the figure's exposed stomach. It howls with masculine emphasis in the tone. I leap over to the wall and whirl around to face the other threat; another has joined it, now making two threats. One is obviously a fairy.
To make matters easier, I slice off one of the fairies wings. She cries ojt in an unearthly screech of pain. While she grips her bloody side, I turn to decapitate the last person, but their reflexes are much faster than the others'. Growls rip from my throat as I now find myself on the defensive side. Time to end this. My left hand draws my second knife, which I bring up just in time for a surprise strike."
