A brother is not defined by blood. It's not defined by resemblance or family either. What a brother is, is a person who you would put before most people. Someone who you care about, not even wondering whether they feel the same way or not. A brother is someone who always comes back to you, no matter how far away he's been.
Roderick Black and his brothers live in southern Bristol. Their lives have been pretty great so far, and there's been nothing to really complain about after the orphanage. That is, until Charlie, another one of them, came back along, bringing pain and rage. Their lives are twisted and turned upside down, as they get themselves into messes that you can't get out of. How will the brothers deal with the shadows that creep towards them? Or break through the thorns that held Charlie away for so many years?
