We made it into West Virginia at around mid-afternoon. We're exhausted, almost lost Tuanya along the way. I haven't eaten anything today or yesterday,  I secretly gave it all to the dog. Clary does more than we do, and saves us bullets and energy, so I figured he deserves a can of beans more than I do. Marylyn would kill me if he knew I did that, though, so I think I should be a little more careful.

One is the main mansion, where we all used to live until it got really crowded, and then the second mansion belongs to Gracie. Her mansion is by a waterfall, just a ten minute walk away. Most of us have super powers. I mean, if the Capitol can make mutts, surely we can give ourselves super powers. Gracie has black wings, Talia has super speed, Chris has super strength, Derrick can make himself invisible. Nina can make herself invisible and make force fields too. We all have issues here. Sierra doesn't talk. Chris is a germaphobe. Chase cuts himself. We all have reasons for running away from the districts and the Capitol, but we've all found sanctuary here. This is the second book of our adventures, a sequel to Outside the Districts.

I was the first. I arrived in the Glade, and there was nothing and... no one. I remembered nothing about who I was, who my parents were, what happened. A few days I remembered my name, and that's it. That's all that ever came back. There were four walls surrounding me with only one exit. I wanted to go through, so I did, in hopes of finding my way out. What I found lurking on the other side was not an exit but something much worse. I found my way back, and I spent the next month fending for myself. Food, water, a temporary shelter. After a month, someone else arrived, and this person arrived with supplies. Every month a new person was sent up. Every arrival was the same as mine. They couldn't remember anything. I was the first one here, and that means that I call the shots, I make the rules, and I run the place.
