There are others like them out there.
Look closely at them enough, and you'll notice things about them.
They have that glint in their eye, a care-free and arrogant attitude, and this strange ability - they'll close their eyes, and disappear before your very eyes.
Just like a daydream.

I'll admit right now, there are elements of this story that are similar to a story written last year by user wildgreenskittle, titled Windswept. While inspiration for this story did come from wildgreenskittle, I'll assure that the plot of Daydreamer is much different from Windswept, other than the element of teleportation.
Daydreaming is the ability of a person who can close his or her eyes, envision a new location, and instantly reappear at their location. This ability appears randomly to anyone- even the most hardened criminals locked up in jail can use this ability, if they discover they can Daydream. 17-year old Taylor Akane was a normal high school Senior, playing around with his friends and playing video games during his free time. That is, until he discovered he could Daydream.
Taylor could use this ability as he wished. He could Daydream to the bustling city of Tokyo, or to the hot, damp Amazon rainforest. As long as he knew his destination, Taylor could go to any place in the world.
However, there are enemies to Daydreamers that lurk in the world. They can Break a Daydreamer's ability to Daydream with a simple touch - a brush of the fingers against a Daydreamer's arm, and a Daydreamer is a goner. They are the Dream Breakers, and they will stop at nothing to Break any Daydreamer.

Sometimes love is the strongest magic of all
***
Nineteen-year-old Rhia Greenbrook has lived in the sleepy town of Oakriver in a house with three generations of witches her entire life. Rhia draws her magic from the earth and likes to spend her time amongst plants and nature. Her practice is gentle, sacred, and-per her family's tradition-secret.
New-to-town witch Valerie Morgan is looking for answers about her mother's disappearance from Oakriver seventeen years ago. Without her mother's guidance, Valerie has cultivated her fire magic on her own and she makes no effort to keep her powers hidden. Although Rhia is immediately annoyed by Valerie's blatant use of magic, she can't deny the instant magnetism between them.
But amidst their magical connection, a dark presence looms over Oakriver. Unsettling visions from Rhia's grandmother and dangerous sleepwalking episodes throw into question Valerie's past and what role her presence plays in the strange happenings. And as Valerie gets tangled up further into the darkness, it's up to Rhia to tap into the full potential of her power in order to save the town she loves and the girl she's fallen for.
