"What are you doing here?" He asked, confusion laced in his tone. She stood there dripping with rain, bleary eyed and breathing hitched. 

 "I don't know," she whispered. "Maybe, I shouldn't of come. I'm sorry." She turned to leave before he grabbed her arm, pulling her to him. 

"Wait..." there was a pregnant pause. He opened the door further inviting her in. "Promise me something." She gave him a questioning glance. "Don't go." And then he kissed her, his lips crashing against hers.

McKinley Phillips was used to being hurt, ever since she was a little girl and woke up to find her dad just gone eleven years ago. Left with a mom who couldn't care less about her and a step dad who was always away on business she was used to feeling not good enough. Even still, her left was turned upside when she her father suddenly comes back into the picture and her parents force her to move in with him and his new family. Add on the fact that she finds out that her boyfriend of eight months had been cheating on her and you could safely say her life was a mess. So what happens when you're new next door neighbor turns out to be none other than the bad boy, Ryan Malone himself? He's gorgeous, sarcastic, blunt, had a rep a mile long and wants absolutely nothing to do with McKinley. But what if this boy with his own haunted past could be the key to finally finding  herself again?
