This is the first chapter of my novel "Unleashed" Joy Humbolt is not a huge fan of people so when she is offered a job walking dogs on the Upper East Side she jumps at it. But Joy's world is turned upside down when she discovers one of her clients murdered. Joy realizes too late that only one kind of justice makes it this far uptown: vigilante.

This story starts 7 years after the traumatic events of 9/11. Matt, Penny, Tom, and Keyshia are still recovering from the horrors of 2001. Matt discovers some dark family secrets he never knew about before when his beloved Oma (grandmother) dies. Matt also has deal with the return of his half-brother Todd, and finds out some shocking things about Todd's current situation. A dangerous individual from Matt and Tom's past comes back to reek havoc. And Penny is exposed again to her criminal family's activities. This is the second and most expansive of my works on the Sheepshead Bay characters. It was written in various stages between 2008 and 2011, mainly during the last time I lived in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. At first I used actual dates to keep track of where these chapters would end up in this story- and in some cases, the dates were also specific to when I originally wrote the chapters. Some of the events in this work are fictionalized recollections of events that have happened to people I've known. Hopefully they won't sue me for putting them in here.
