In the not so distant future, every person born is given a tattoo which counts down to the moment in which they meet their "soul mate." Two young people, each with their own reasons to despise the countdown, will stop at nothing to make sure that everyone is free to find love on their own. The fate of society is in their hands...

Disclaimer: This idea was originally not mine! I found this idea on Tumblr (Well pinterest actually) and decided to widen it! Im sorry to whoever's idea it was but I dont have the post so if its you let me know!
I also just found out that there is a movie similar to this called "Timer". The storyline is very different, you are not born with the countdown on your wrist.

And even if you are near your match, as long as one of you are not of age, your tattoo will not tingle. Also, they are normal tattoos (except you don't get it or choose it, it just appears) so you can get rid of it. But if you do, your sm won't die but they will get very sick. The main characters of this story, Violet West (18) and Harper Black (20), both have a flame tattoo on their cheek. They live in the same state but for 4 years Harper paniced because she couldn't find her match. She wasn't sure if it was because her sm wasn't of age yet or if her sm lived far away. For 2 years Violet also paniced but she knew that some people don't find their sm for 5-10 years after they come of age, so she wasn't as scared as Harper.
