Some might consider him a thief, however Darryl sees himself the exact opposite. He has achieved great popularity among the townsfolk by stealing what has been stolen from them and returning what is rightfully theirs; and has gained few friends and many enemies for it.
Darryl has a dream, past the slums in the city of Visalale in which he lives. His dream is to gain enough money to be able to leave and start a grand new life somewhere far away, and be respected by people, not to be looked down upon. However, when he comes upon an ancient, magical pendant, everything he aspires to achieve comes crashing down in a tumult of uncontrolled rage...

Alright, for those reading this, it will probably not make much sense. That is because this is something of a back story to the villain of my main story, Raider's of Arkania; so if you like the style of this short story, then I will be uploading Chapter 1 sometime soon!

[UNEDITED] Something about the way she smiled was faux. Like the lashes that lined her eyelids. Like the makeup that coated her skin. Like her breasts. Finally, the head appeared - horns and nostrils and teeth like daggers - connected to the chest by a long neck. It wore silver like a second skin, as if coated in polished scalemail - everything except its spines, claws and other bony protrusions. Like a broken mirror, it reflected the moon and stars.
