Virtual & Reality takes place in the perspective of 16 year old Jena who has grown up in a world that everyone calls Virtual- a place that is completely created in the mind of the human race. Jena's Virtual is the suburbs, but in Reality- she lives in what is now a more run-down version of Chicago.
When out with friends, her Wire, the device that connects her to Virtual, malfunctions, booting her back into Reality. Jena tries to get back, but with no success. With a new curiosity, she goes and explores the real world, where she meets 17 year old Neo, who also had a Wire malfunction.
The two explore Chicago, and meet Larke, a middle-aged woman who never had the Wire installed. She tells the two that there is an entire population of people without the Wire, and convinces Jena and Neo to stay in Reality. But in the end, will Neo stay with Jena and begin a new life in the real world?

In this dystopian world, you can see, via hologram, the last time someone cried. There are people who use this to manipulate and antagonize others. Anna is the center of our story. She's a 16 year old girl who has under gone much heartache due to the dystopian setting. She has made a promise to her older brother, Drew, while he was on his death bed, to protect their younger siblings- a promise she hopes she doesn't break. She is very tough, but fear is a constant no matter who you are. In the story, fear is ruling her; the fear that she's failing Drew. If she, her family, and her neighbors were not in this setting, she'd be perfectly happy. But she can't be happy now, not with everything that's going on.Complete
