Deep within the land of Enchancia, lives the fairies, the elves, and the giants, all guarded by a prophecy. Before this prophecy was revealed, they lived in peace and harmony. Two young fairies, Dawny and Wrenn are chosen as the first parts of the prophecies by the past elders. Two members from each species must be chosen to lead their families in battle against the other two. The winning species will populate the forest and dwell within in for 1000 years, until the other two species comes back.

Upon leaving for Valinor (at the end of LOTR), Galadriel prophesised an Elvish message to Thranduil. It read: "Son, after son, after sunrise will appear a daughter of Rohan whose voice will reign upon the world of men. Her union to the other family will change the face of Middle Earth forever." The Woodland Elves remained in Middle Earth by the urging of Galadriel to oversee the dominion of man and the fulfillment of this prophecy under the continued rule of King Thranduil and Prince Legolas of Mirkwood.
