Life in 1756 S.Ę. is slow but interesting. The same sounds are heard almost everyday in the city of Steambridge. Horses' metal shoes on cobblestone streets and the hinges, cogs, and wires rubbing and clanking inside of the mechanical carriages pulled by the horses. The sound of engineers building huge machines with tools, the voices of other citizens and The Time Train coming and going from the station every few weeks. The train was built by Tom 'Tick Tock' Steam and travels through time and to different dimensions. Helena Steam is the great, great, great granddaughter of Tick Tock Steam. Even though her family 'owns' the city, she has the attention span of a white crayon. Her only friends are Grace Killjoy, a girl from the future who talks about Better Living Industries (BLI) and how Killjoys fight for rights and Chester'Chess'Cat, from the Wonderland dimension.
But when Gerard Way takes a trip on The Time Train it changes Helena and his life forever...
