"So why don't you go to church?" I whispered to him as the rain fell on the rusted tin roof. My gaze watching his subtle movements as he played with the laces of his tattered black converse. He must have ran a mile in those shoes because they were definitely not new. His eyes were soft and gentle unlike his features which were rugged and sharp. His blue eyes sparked with a gentle gleam of hope that was foreshadowed by a corrupted soul. "Because not even God can save me..." The look in his eyes told me he was telling me the truth but when I realized his eyes sparkled from the tears glistening within them; I knew, there's more to him than meets the eye.
