Hi, my name is mia. I'm not very noticed at school. Some people find me annoying just because I'm smarter then them. I have one friend, but I can barely even call her that. She never hangs out with me because she says I have a bad attitude. So, I take that back, I don't have any, friends. Actually, I take that back as well. My BEST friend is music. Music is what makes me feel like I don't need anything else in the world. I have hopes and dreams, that the kids at school, and even my parents, don't think could ever come true. But that's enough blabbing about my miserably life, I'm sure you probably just want the story to start. Okay, bye.

CHAPTER ONE: THE FIRST DAY
Okay, I'm back. So today is my first day of 6th grade. There is a school musical coming up, that Ms. Palmer is going g to be directing. I think she is the best drama teacher out there. I slipped on my shoes, tightened my shoes. Straightened out my leotard, and fixed my hair. "Ana! Ana!" they called out. I walked on to the stage placement A1. I stood in first position looking down waiting for my que. The music started and then I started. I went on my toes shoes and danced. I dipped and many boys caught me. This act was called The Girl. I am that girl. It's about her being so beautiful that everyone falls for her. In real life I am nothing like that, In these dances I nothing but that. As they dance aggressively yet gracefully, I saw my mother in the crowd. I blinked twice to get the image out of my head because she was gone and I didn't want crazy images of ghost in my head. She was gone. One of the boys looked at me like I was crazy because I missed my cue. Crap I thought as I did it quickly to make sure everything was ok. Luckily everything was ok and got off the stage. "What the hell just happened there?" the director asked, I ignore him and walked to my locker to get a danish and some water, he followed me, "Hey girls only." I said "I'm gay." He replied "And..." I answered He huffed and walked out the room. I smiled at his anger. Seeing the director get angry was always so funny. Yet he always gives me the lead roll.

The world is loud. There are those who make no sound. Billions of people on the planet, some make no sound, some hear no sounds, and some don't see what's making the sound. Humans take their voice for granted, they don't realize what it's like not to be able to say what you're thinking. Humans don't realize what it's like not to be able to listen to the world. They don't realize what it's like not to be able to look at the stars and see the beauty in the sky. I can see, I can hear, but what I can't do is speak for myself. My own silence is deafening. *Pardon my word choice.* I've never been able to speak, as soon as I was able I was sent to learn ASL (American Sign Language). I was then sent to regular public school and I love it, the sounds of the students talking. Being able to be a regular person, well, as close to regular as I can be without talking. My name is Rosalyn, I've never breathed a word. Silence is easy when all you can give are ASL signs and not many people understand them. I'm just like everyone else. I have a celebrity crush. I have a favorite book (It's Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen). I have a favorite color (It's a silvery blue). I have a story to tell just like you. I get made fun of because I can't speak. People yell at me thinking that because I'm mute I'm also deaf. This is my silent melody, the song of my soul.
