It's a historical I know for sure and its completed.
The main character is a girl that watches her parents get killed right in front of her while she hides behind a painting. Her uncle comes and finds her there. He takes her in cares for as his own he reaches her how to fight. She meets a friend of her uncle that's very powerful and feared by most he decides to ask for her hand in marriage. They get married and fall in love eventually.
I know bits and pieces that can help but I do not know the name of the author.
She has a cousin that's married to her new husbands best friend. He's also very good to his ppl and has a good relationship with his men.
I think at some point she finds some kittens off on the land that have been there to set her up she saves them and cares for them. I'm not

The neighbors knew what he was doing, but didn't have the proof to bring it to the police. Saya heard of a tiquando class nearby, and wanted to learn to protect herself, so she snuck in every day and practiced from a safe distance. One day, two kids found her and they later became friends, their names were Lin and Jaune. When Saya was eleven, her uncle was murdered, and the police arrested her, since she was the only one living there. Later, Lin and Jaune were arrested trying to break her out. To Cayenne's shock, humans were not supposed to have such powers; she was the legend the website said, Infinity. Some of her friends were left and the Royal Dreamers came for the search party. Who started this war and will she get her friends back and find Energy to create the pathway connecting to the human world and the Dream world?
