Phoenix Rider is a witch. She is afraid of the woods. She is afraid of the night. And she is very afraid of wolves. When her grandmother in a different village becomes ill, Phoenix is given a red cloak and a basket, before being sent on her way.. When Kaden Dweller, a stranger with extraordinary abilities, steps out of the shadows, Phoenix knows she's destined for trouble. His dark hair, mesmerizing blue eyes, and cocky personality have her caught in his web of charm and seduction, and not to mention, intimidation and frightening ability. The pull they feel for each other drives her crazy, and she can't deny those feelings she experiences in the pit of her stomach. As her journey progresses, certain pieces come together, and Phoenix begins to see the truth behind the lie. When something goes terribly wrong, who will she believe; her kind or the man she's destined to love for eternity?

I felt the bed dip as he sat down on the other side but I focused solely on my task until I was done. "This is a pillow barrier. Meaning, you don't breach this side of the pillows." I instructed, my voice firm. "What if I don't want anything between us?" Phoenix said in a husky voice, and I risked a glance. Bad choice. His eyes were dark and his gaze was on my lips, to my chest, then back to my lips. "Eyes up here, buddy." I snapped the third time his eyes went down to my chest. All he did was turn off the lights. When it was dark, he whispered," Can't I admire what is mine?" I had no answer, and turned on my side. He sighed. Despite taking two naps today, I was out cold the minute my head hit my pillow. I could only hope that in the morning, the pillow barrier was still there. ***** Adira has a secret, one she would do anything to protect.
