We'll be killed for sure." I look at her and grabs her face. "Look may, I love you, And I don't give a damn about them people. And if I do die I'll be happy because I died for you!"

May Hampton is a beautiful African-American teenager growing up in poverty in the early 50's. One day while on her way home she come encounter with a middle class man Johnny. Johnny is instantly attracted to May. But there's this one huge problem. Johnny is white, and may is black. The forbidden relationship begins to blossom as each fall deeper in love. Will they love remain until the end of time or will they love parish and end because the cruel world they live in.
