Cameron White's life turns around completely after her best friend, Piers Alexander, kills himself. She sees things that aren't really there, and has dreams that would never let her sleep soundly again. It's not long before she finds out that she's being hunted, and is taken to a promised safe haven where, just like her ,targets and victims of The Gones had been taken to. She meets new friends and helps them fight for their lives while also going through a life threatening experience. She finds herself perplexed by a boy who claims that he had lost everything because he had lost his memory at such a young age. Is this boy telling the truth about who he is? Was Piers's death really a suicide?

She loves her family but hates her life, she wishes nothing more than to forget everything that has happened. But she can't, just forgetting doesn't come easy. Everyone thinks she's fine, from the outside looking in, she looks it. She pretends for the sake of her family because they think she is finally starting to get better, but she's not. But it's him. He's the one who can see she isn't fine. Out of everyone, he's the only other person who's noticed but he also has his own issues. Austen Wells, the high school delinquent. More just the misunderstood guy, with impulsive anger who doesn't know how to control it. He bumps into her and immediately sees past her facade, because he's been putting up the same one. He's just worse at keeping it up. Read as two completely broken people find their way to each other. Will they be able to save each other?
