Gone

The dream of Barnaby floods in my mind every night. Whisper laying on the ground beside me and tears rolling down my cheeks. "No!!" I always hear the shrill scream of my voice when they announce what they will have to do with Barnaby. I run out of the stall, tears streaming down my cheeks and my hands cupped over my eyes.

Skyler White is a twelve year old girl with a friend that doesn't speak words. Skyler has flashbacks of Barnaby and her last ride together down the beach. The smooth beat of his hooves under her. Her gelding Barnaby gets very sick and Skyler is heart broken when she needs to find a different horse to be with. She is unsure that being an equestrian is a good idea anymore if Barnaby can't be with her. Will Skyler pursue her dreams of becoming an equestrian with Barnaby watching over her? Or will Skyler throw away the opportunity of being an equestrian for life? Will Barnaby forever be in her heart?
