A foot meets my ribs and my stomach bursts into flames, igniting with pain.
"what you won't say anything? open your damn eyes kid"
I pick myself off the pavement, blood pouring off my body and every inch of it aching, with my past.
I open my eyes and am greeted by the same darkness that haunts me everyday.
"what do you see?" he screams at me,
obviously wanting another reaction.
I move my body towards his direction and manage to speak, as I'm haunted by this very thought. A tear rolls down my cheek.
"Nothing." I whisper, as darkness greets me, once again.
" I see nothing."

My hand slaps against my mouth as I try to shut myself up. Don't make too much noise...or he'll hear you. A vehicle's door opens then slams shut. I don't hear footsteps...but as the minutes go by I begin to hear them; the footsteps get louder and louder and louder, matching the sound of my thundering heart. That's when I see his shadow cast over the ditch...over the place where I tried to hide. "Well," he says with a smile in his voice. "I wonder where he could've gone...the footprints stop here...so I wonder if he just...disappeared?" My body begins to tremble. I can feel it now. The pain. I can feel the pain already. He jumps down into the ditch...he stands directly in front of me, with his back facing me. My hand presses harder against my mouth as I try to suppress my whimper, but it's way too late now. Hoping to shake this human off once and for all, I twisted my body around rapidly with a plan to put my words into action. I widen my eyes beginning to run in the snow making my feet heavy. "Help! Somebody help me!" I scream in a cry looking around to find nobody on sight. "Help!" I scream trying to run faster hoping somebody would hear my cries. My throat became sore from the cold quickly making it harder to breathe freely. "Help me! Somebody!" I hear the tall figure run behind me feeling a grip on my hair. My white ski hat fell into the ground covered in snow. The man groans pulling my hair towards him making me collapse. "No, stop!" I scream struggling from his grasp, punching and kicking aimlessly. "Shhh." The man whispers into my ear grabbing onto my wrists starting to cuff them. "No!" I scream twisting and turning trying to bite the man's arm. The man doesn't say much. The only thing I hear is his heavy breathing.
