Although I'm not certain what motivated me to write this specifically, it may have something to do with something someone said to me recently about the bond I share with my brother, that we had each other's backs no matter what. And I guess some part of me wanted to show what a brotherly bond is like, and some part of me thought "hey, what's a better bond than the one the Winchesters share for each other." And thus this story, of a five year Sam who wakes up from a nightmare, and hopes to have his big bro cheer him up. Again, I don't know why I chose this specific age and situation, but I think it shows a more emotional depth to the boys and their bond, and it also shows just how much they care about each other. Sam may be a little too young to understand it in this story, but Dean has always got his back, no matter what.
