Although I'm not certain what motivated me to write this specifically, it may have something to do with something someone said to me recently about the bond I share with my brother, that we had each other's backs no matter what. And I guess some part of me wanted to show what a brotherly bond is like, and some part of me thought "hey, what's a better bond than the one the Winchesters share for each other." And thus this story, of a five year Sam who wakes up from a nightmare, and hopes to have his big bro cheer him up. Again, I don't know why I chose this specific age and situation, but I think it shows a more emotional depth to the boys and their bond, and it also shows just how much they care about each other. Sam may be a little too young to understand it in this story, but Dean has always got his back, no matter what.All Rights Reserved

While hunting a werewolf Caitlin is bit. Not wanting to become a werewolf she begs her dad to kill her. John fufills his daughters last wish. Or at least that's what the boys are told. Once the boys learn of their sisters death they're broken. They grief on their own while John continues on his quest for revenge for their mother. Little do they know their sister isn't dead. But she isn't the same. John and Caitlin weren't hunting for a werewolf. They were hunting a Demon. During the hunt the Demon threatens to kill John so Caitlin made a deal. She'll go to hell for her dad. The Demon refuses, saying the only deal he'll make is that Caitlin will be a Demon. Caitlin reluctantly agrees and she leaves with the Demon. Now it's been years since Caitlin left. Dean only has a year left. Sam is willing to do anything he can do save his brother. That's when he learns of a Demon that has gone rogue. The Demon fights hell, and helps humans. Doing anything to piss off the other Demons, especially Lilith. Sam immediately attempts to find the Demon. And when he does he's shocked a long with Dean. How will the brothers respond with their new ally? Will this Demon betray them? Or will their hate for Lilith be strong enough to let them fight with these hunters? And where does the oldest Winchester for into all of this?

Dean's about to start medical school and he has been assigned a dorm room. With a roommate. As he and Sam head up to his new room he gets an ominous warning from the guy down the hall about Dean's new roommate. It unnerves Sam, but Dean thinks the guy can't be that bad. Right? Dean and Sam grew up happy with BOTH parents in this one. I thought about how to approach this one for quite a while before I actually started writing it. I thought, how can I get this to make sense? Why would a roommate run away? And then this came to me. So, for those of you that don't know, I based a lot of Cas' personality, quirks, and traits on myself since I have Asperger's. While I don't color coordinate my shirts in the closet, they DO have to all face the same direction, and I have more sensory issues than I'll bore you with here. I mention Dean's sensory issues as well here. While he doesn't show actual traits of Asperger's, he's on the spectrum too, and people on the spectrum still have related issues. The bluntness of Cas' questions are something that I did more often when I was younger, and a reason why people singled me out as weird or a freak. I had great difficulty distinguishing between when people were joking and making fun of me (therefore people thought I was stupid, and I was called as much, despite my higher IQ), so I tended to keep to myself. I still have difficulty initiating conversations, and my reaction to going into places like the party that will be mentioned here is much the same as I made Cas react. Parallels, as you'll notice.

This story is about Dean Winchester saving people. I got this idea from a dream. Dean was put in the job to save people after his mom died. Just his dad knows that he is the hero. he starts losing everyone else as the job filds his life more and more. Sam hates him because he feels like Dean doesn't care about him. Cas is also distant. Dean has always had a big crush on Cas. But he believes Cas couldn't like him anyway, at least not now. his life is getting more misreabale by the time that passes. he just wants everything to end. this is a rewriting of the original but its so much better and has more stuff so its so worth reading:)
