“In penance for their uprising, each district shall offer up a male and a female tribute between the ages of Twelve and Eighteen at a public ‘reaping.’ These tributes shall be delivered to the custody of the Capitol and then transferred to a public arena, where they will fight to the death until a lone victor remains. Henceforth and forevermore this pageant shall be known as ‘The Hunger Games.’” So said the treaty of Treason, made just over 160 years ago in this great nation of Panem. 24 boys and girls get chosen and shipped to their deaths every year, but you never guessed it would be you. Emma Love was only the daughter of a penniless man in District Ten, but that all changes on reaping day. As the games progress, she proves to everyone that she is much more than they expected. To the Capitol, this girl was just a piece in their games, but to the districts of Panem she was much more. Now, she’s fighting for her life for the leisure of the people she loathes along with 23 other people. Only one may remain standing. Who will it be?

In what used to be North America, the proud country of Panem now stands. The rulers from the Capitol hold a televised survival competition in which one male and one female between the ages of twelve and eighteen are reaped to fight to to death in an arena designed to be as deadly as the tributes, themselves. This game is forever known as The Hunger Games. Peeta Mellark, District Twelve's Baker's son, has been, madly in love with his companion, Katniss Everdeen, since the small age of five. Ever since tragedy gave him enough courage to ask for her hand, the unspeakable happens. Katniss's little sister, Primrose, is reaped for the death sentence. Peeta watches helplessly as his lover volunteers to take her place in the Games. Soon after, Peeta is reaped himself. He knows that only one will come out alive: someone smart, determined, and strong enough. And it would be his love. It had to be. This is my verson of The Hunger Games, originally writen by Suzanne Collins.
