Selina has had enough. Enough of her abusive husband who she never wanted to marry in the first place, enough of being controlled through her fear of his drunken rage, and enough of being locked away in that stupid, filthy tower. Seizing her courage, she leaves one night and takes the boat across the lake, knowing not where she will go. She feels at peace in the water, everything is so quiet, so still, almost like she is floating.. I suppose that's what drowning feels like, peaceful.
