Jayden Rose has a pretty fucked up life. She has many mental problems, which leads her to self harm, terrible anxiety and panic attacks, voices in her head, and brief periods of anorexia. If thats not bad enough, her father abuses her physically,sexually,and verbally. She would be classified as emo; she wears dark clothes, has a lip ring and listens to music that would scare a child. But in reality,bands such as My Chemical Romance have saved her life. Something comes up, and she has the chance to see her saviors in concert. After something heartbreaking happens at that concert, she never expected for whole new story to open.

Katrina Mars has always had a special connection with her older sister, Keeley, who graduated the year Katrina was in eighth grade. The two had always been best friends as sisters, and they had always been there for each other. Keeley was even the only friend Katrina ever had, even after she went off to college. Ever since Keeley left for college (which is eight hours away from Katrina's home), Katrina has felt lost, confused, lonely, and sad, not knowing what to do at all with no one to turn to. About five months after Keeley left, at a doctor's visit, Katrina discovers that she has been diagnosed with depression. Although this disappoints her, it is not surprising... For the next couple of years, her parents have become worse and worse towards her, mentally abusing her because of the music she likes, the way she dresses, and her normal personality. This worsens her depression, and being ignored and lonely doesn't help. This is all until she meets Sam Browman, a kid in school who is a lot like her: dresses "emo," listens to "emo" bands, sings and plays a lot of instruments, and goes through troubles at home. Who knows what may happen to these kids who connect through both having troubles at home? This story is set in the year 2011, when My Chemical Romance was together (before the breakup and reunion).
