Jana is a  Lava Dragonblood, an ancient species that can take on characteristics of a dragon. She was banished from her tribe when she was four years old, and has not seen them since. At age seventeen she has an accidental meeting with the first DragonBlood she has seen in a decade, Lynk. Lynk is an Ice Dragonblood the same age as her and very smart. He knows a lot about the Dragonblood’s and the dragons, but has never heard of Jana’s tribe. The two, accompanied by their dragons, set out on a quest to find this long lost tribe. 

While on the quest Jana and Lynk meet Ivory, a Unablood, who has a dark history with Lynk and his tribe. Unicorn against the Dragons and Unablood against the Dragonblood. 

Mordecai, Jana’s dragon knows what happened to the long lost tribe. He has seen something he is not willing to share with her. If he does tell her it means he will lose her forever. The prophecy that must never be seen by her is what has him so afraid.
