The Infected Mind
[Book 1] Crawlers: once normal people like you or me. They had hobbies, families, friends, interests, but now they are feral monsters. The infection spread, wiping out almost half the human race, and leaving the rest as either Crawlers or Survivors. The infected's eyes will black out, before giant, black, bug-like legs will rip out of their back, giving them a newfound speed and agility, as well as an insatiable bloodlust. Body fluids entering any open wound, including the eyes, mouth, and nose, will seal the person's fate; they are now infected. It won't be long before they start screeching at the moon in a mock howl. The problem is, I am infected. I turned but retained most of my humanity. With my new lifestyle in a new world, I can't expect anything or anyone to act as I predict. Scientists had experimented on humans for a long time, making different breakthroughs and some failures... but this one was their most astonishing and regretful discovery.. with a mistake in their calculations as well as their subject. A virus was created and this virus was passed on to Everyone in the hospital lab quickly causing the first zombie infected appearance. At first it was mild... but like a wild fire, it spread round the city and nearly around the world... humanity was pushed back, homes destroyed....bond broken.... and many more problems came. But after all, humans can adapt quickly. And quick did they adapt... creating weapons that work for both infected and mercenaries alike, humanity had found a way to survive again. Despite the population reducing to an absolute needle size... humanity didn't give up... And now.... something else seems to have appeared... something that would affect everything..Complete

It took barely over a month for the epidemic to spread across the globe. Contrary to belief, the world didn't end with a bang and neither did it go quietly. No. It ended one scream at a time. A little more than a year has passed since the outbreak swept over the planet and annihilated a good portion of the living. Perri was one of the lucky ones who managed to evacuate with the military escorted buses in those early days of the spread. But, that luck didn't last.
