Why?
Well, because Posiden put a bounty on him, Artemis and Aphrodite both loved him, and every other god wanted him tortured to death, brought back to life, and tortured to death again, and so on and so forth. Annabeth was cheating on him with a son of Hades named Jordan. And no one cared about him from Camp Half-blood.
