The Rules: 1. The first player to confess romantic feelings of any kind towards their fellow player, loses. 2. All is fair in love and war. Things are different at Marymount High. To move up the social ladder Marymount students participate in what is known around school as "The Game". "The Game" is the ultimate power struggle, players battle one another via flirtatious wit, trying get the other player to admit affection for them while they themselves remain unattached. A victory launches a student higher up the popularity scale, while a defeat can turn a student into a nobody with nothing but a broken heart. Nice girl Darcy is no stranger this "game" that floats around her school. But when a notorious player comes knocking, will Darcy get more than she bargined for?

"What's your problem?" He asks darkly. "What's your problem?" I spit back. "Why do you keep following me?" He hisses. "I don't follow you!" I shout back. "Then how come where ever I go you end up going or being there?" He questions in a raised voice. "Its a coincidence." I say back in the same tone. He then moves forward towards me, and I take a step back but my back hits the brick wall. He puts his arms up his palms against the wall caging me in looking into my eyes. I won't look at him though, I look to the ground scared. "Just leave me alone...stay away." He whispers in my ear before he walks away to his car with his head down. -- When Dylan accidentally bumps into Mason in school things change. Dylan isn't scared away from him, or the rumors about him. She wonders about him, and what is up with him. When Mason decides Dylan needs to stay away from him he can't seem to keep it that way. He has a weird need to protect her... From everything. Which means finding out about her past... Will he soften up around her, or keep is bad boy dangerous ways? What happened when his fighting life comes into his normal life? What will happen when they find out about Dylan? Will Mason be able to keep her safe? Or will his boss find a way to keep him fighting?
