Alex Gaskarth moves in next door to a girl named Autumn and immediately befriends her friends Jack, Rian, and Zack
One day, Autumn decides to let Alex enter her abandoned tree house. After discovering Autumn's diary, Alex reads it and finds out about Autumn's tragic middle school life.
Meanwhile, Jack, Rian, and Zack want Alex to join their band. After spending the summer working on the band and then going to school, Alex soon finds out that he's undergoing the same things that Autumn wrote about in her diary. The only one who could understand what he was going through was Autumn, but he couldn't let her find out that he's been reading her diary! He tries to escape his problems with his music, but it's not working as well as he thought. He might have to tell Autumn, but what if she already knows...?
