Dan and Phil go to the same university. They share most of their classes together and since Phil is so shy, Dan decides to befriend him. They start talking, and once they realize it, they become inseparable. They become the best of friends.
But, for Christmas Phil has to go visit his parents. Dan spends his time all alone in his apartment, waiting a long and painful lonely month for his best friend to come back.
When Phil comes back, Dan notices there's something different about him. He's acting weird, strange. He's not paying attention to his classes, he's barely leaving his house, and he's ignoring Dan.
What happened to Phil? How will Dan find out? And how is this all linked back to Dan's past?

I've read a bunch of phan, so why not write one? Dan Howell's life couldn't be any better at the moment. He has met the most beautiful, charming, kind girl he could ever imagine, and she loves him back. Everything is perfect... but not for Phil. Phil Lester has always been in love with Dan since the first moment he first met him, but now Phil's heart is crushed. He has some suspicions of Dan's girlfriend, but Dan just brushes it off, ignoring Phil completely. Unfortunately, Phil's bad feelings may be true... Barely any money and deadbeat parents, he lives in a bad neighborhood in a gross apartment with cat hair covering the carpet and an odd roommate. And then Dan's parents decide he needs to love someone rather than himself, and when Phil shows up at his mansion steps, Dan's parents grow fond of him- so much that the two are exchanging rings and Phil is moving in with his new spouse.
