"Your highness?" I blink and stare at Madelyn with a pain sounding deep in my stomach. My fingers itching and clenching the dark red silk gown covering my slender form.
"Pardon?" I croak clearing my throat as fire burns passionately, a scorching heat almost unbearable. She shifts nervously in the Victorian styled doorway clutching her maids dress.
"His majesty would like speak with you in His study." Her timid voice squeaks out and I nod blankly not at all affected by it. It was a natural response for the human body to feel threatened in the presence of evil. Similar to a wolf, its beauty so mesmerising that you can't take your eyes off of it, even when you realize it will be the death of you. With a sigh I turn to Madelyn my mouth aching as I fight for control.
"You may go, Madelyn." I watch numbly as she rushed out the room her worn skirts fluttering behind her. "Thank you," I whisper, resuming to stare at the monster in the worn glass.
