  Joanna, the youngest daughter of Ian Beaumont and aspiring writer, has always been the apple of her father's eye, even after he has lost all his wealth and moves the family to the humble town of Perreneux. She would do anything to protect her family and is forced to prove this when her father's life is in danger.
  
  The Beast, the fierce protector of the forest, has lived  in the heart of Nature's abundance for years. When a man comes into his seemingly clandestine domain, he almost kills him until he learns of his youngest daughter and makes the father promise to bring her to his home.
  
  Joanna and the Beast are brought together under the same roof.  Their company leads them to discover each other's past and goals in life along and explore the hidden magic of the surrounding forest.  This retelling goes deeper into the unlikely relationship between the quiet Beauty who discovers her strength and passion and the lonely Beast who unearths his trust and love.
