Summer
Summer is intoxicatingly beautiful and she knows it. Everyone wants to be her. Everyone wants to know her. What no one understands is Summer is not as perfect as she seems. Not by a long shot. And trying to hold it all together is like silently suffocating inside her own head. Until she somehow stumbles into Ace, who is as beautiful as he is cruel. He takes what he wants and doesn't care how he gets it. Pushing people away is what he knows and no one dares to get close enough or else they might get ripped to shreds. Summer doesn't trust Ace. She doesn't want or need him. He's frustrating, stubborn and doesn't care about anyone but himself. But a part of her can't help but feel drawn even as destructive and explosive as he seems to be.Complete

Beautifully Broken
"You shouldn't need to drink to try and drown your feelings Kayla. I've watched the people around me do this all my life and it doesn't fix anything." "I know it won't fix anything, but for right now it helps me forget" "You can't keep running away or hiding. In the end it all catches up." "You sound like you've been through this before." "I guess you could say that." "You want me to open up to you, but are you ever going to open up to me? I want to get to know you Tyler, but you are so closed off. You know why I got knocked over by that wave? Because I was watching you, I was watching your face and seeing how free you felt riding that wave. It's the only time I've ever seen you let go. You know that someone hurt me, but I think you have been hurt too. When you're ready to talk, I'll be waiting. Maybe we can help each other." "Maybe I'm not worth getting to know" he replied. "And maybe I'm not worth you trying to save me either. Or maybe I am" With that I got up and left him to think about what I said. I put my cards on the table, now it was up to him to make the next move. ******** A year ago, Kayla had it all, doting parents and a relationship with her older brother that others envied. By the end of junior year that changed, she's left broken after a series of events in her life, but she is determined to hide her pain from her friends and enjoy the summer. Sometimes life don't go the way we planned. Sometimes we end up feeling so low, and alone. Like we're in a dark hole with no one around us, but then suddenly there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
