' "Let's begin," she replies. I pause, "begin what exactly?" She pulls three small bones from a box on the oak table behind her, each one bigger than the next. I open my mouth to ask but she quickly puts up her finger to stop me. She points at the first bone, the smallest, "the past." She points to the second, "the present." She moves her finger to the last and largest one, "and future." I look back at her blankly but nod. She takes them up into her hands and to my surprise, throws them in the air. When they land in front of us she leans forward to inspect them, "hmm," she hums. I lean forward in curiosity as well, wondering what she can see. She points at the first two that have fallen in a heap, the tiniest bone perched on top of the middle-sized one. "Your past lingers in your present," she croaks, peering at me. "And that's a bad thing?" I guess.
"The present is to be lived in now, that's why it's called the present...because it's a gift," wisdom, age and authority pours out of her voice.
"So what can I do?" I ask her. "There is something that still clings to you, lingers around you. You have to figure out what it is. It's holding you back."
"Is it something that bad?" I ask her nervously. She gives me a thoughtful look, "that's something you'll have to figure out yourself Aine." '
