What do you do when your life is flipped inside out and upside down? When so much death is in your life? Angel lives her life minute by minute...but what happens when time stands still?...
Her sobs sounded like they weren't from this world. I pulled the pillow over my head, trying to drown out her screams. I silently cried along with her and eventually fell into the gracious escape of darkness.
I've never really pitied myself for how my life turned out to be. I guess if you live something long enough you get used to it. It is what it is and nobody can change it. My name is Angel, and this is my life.

At fourteen my life was flipped upside down. And not for good. I was held captive for many years. I didn't know the day, year or month it was. I didn't know whether I was far away from home, or beside it. How much of my life had I missed? How much had my kidnapper stolen from me? And would I ever find my family again?
