Set in a post-apocalyptic medieval steampunk world, where our way of life is long forgotten. New cultures were formed, the main one being the brutal and unforgiving Elementals.
Ember, an orphan girl who is raised by an imaginary friend called Scarlet, or so she thinks Scarlet is all in her head.
When Embers peaceful world collides with that of the Elementals, she is forced into unknown territory. Will the cruelty, cannibalising, torturing and mass homicides overwhelm her, or make her stronger than she could have ever even imagined?
