Mahlah(May·la) Renae Banner has never had much to live for. After she obtains a strange ability in a freak accident at age two she is abandoned by her parents and shunned by society as a monster. With no one to turn to and no way to control her power she ends up living in an alleyway where a rogue division of S.H.I.E.L.D finds her. After years of brutal and inhumane tests they're caught by director Fury who hands the now ten year old girl over to Dr. Banner. Banner helps the girl as much as he can while staying hidden from S.H.I.E.L.D and adopts her as his daughter. S.H.I.E.L.D agrees to leave the girl alone on the condition she doesn't leave her residence unless given permission by Fury himself. So Mahlah lived happily alone in the middle of nowhere.
That is until Fury shows up with five strangers asking about Dr. Banners whereabouts.
