"I kill people for a living, so I don't expect you to be with someone so heartless."

"Well, guess what? I also kill people in my spare time, so I guess we're both screwed."

Having a father who owned a top secret global organization of qualified assassins had its many drawbacks for Brinley Caverly. Trained and educated at a young age, she was exceptional at the art of execution, even for someone as young as herself. But at the age of fourteen, she craved normality in her life, so she left, sealing a negotiation with her father.

But years later, when danger arises, a brooding man with a mind crafted into complexity was ordered to protect her. She was capable of pulling the trigger, but incapable of protecting herself. As far as he knew, she was a fragile girl lost in the world of her father's work. But to her, she was much more.

[COMPLETED] "I see you've become brave" He chuckles, his eyes dark. "I didn't have a choice," I say without a hint of emotion in my voice. His eyes stay still at me when after a certain point I look away for a moment as the situation was getting too intense. Our silent breathing filled the room as he stood there holding me to the door, his fingers digging deep in my skin. Hard but not enough to hurt. "You have to tell me what goes on in your mind when it comes to me. Why do you keep hurting me?" I look him in the eyes, questioning. He leans in making me doubt what he intended to do as I turn my head looking to my left. His forehead softly touches my temple and rests against it. For some reason, it calmed me down. I stand there not moving a bone, too scared perhaps. Slowly, he takes a few strands of hair tucking it behind my ear. I hear him take a deep breath, and slowly exhale through his mouth parting his lips. His warm breath made my skin moist as he slowly he leans further down to my ear and he touches it softly with his lips sending shivers down my body. "Trust me, you don't wanna know what goes on in my mind when it comes to you." //Grace Evans is the childhood friend of Harry Styles, a member of the world-famous band 'Affinity'. *May be triggering to some readers* "Ah, but what if Niall knew you were hiding something from him, something that puts him in danger," he has a point all of them are in danger but if I keep my mouth shut, they'll be safe. "You dare tell Niall about those texts. I'll kill you myself," I've never been a person to throw threats around, but i had to do something. He takes a step closer to me, only a few inches between our bodies now. "Oh, you're a murderer now, I see," he chuckles to himself, his chest rising up and down slowly, like he's the most relaxed person on earth. "I've never hurt a fly, never would, unless you hurt my brother," I state strongly, avoiding eye contact. My eyes are glued to his worn Rolling Stones t-shirt. "I'm not hurting your brother, sweetheart, I'm hurting you," he speaks lowly, almost at a whisper "the more I know about you, the more I have against you, the more I can get what I need from this situation."
