The story of 17 year old Marsai Mitchell, who falls in love with the hottest boy in crescent high school. When she was younger she witnessed her father leave her mother, and start a new family with another woman. Which now has her with one eye open about her relationship with Uriah White, the hottest boy in crescent high. What makes her life even worse is the drama with her twin sister Mariah, who is pregnant by a dope boy named Quemar but goes by the name Joka. As if anything couldn't get any worse, her mother gets back together with her father but it's hard for Marsai to forgive him for what he did to his family.
