Maya Hargrave was working an evening shift at The Coffee Cup when she met Bram Hamilton for the first time. Successful, arrogant and with a giant chip on his shoulder- Bram met the world with a heavy dose cynicism and contempt. Grave and sensible, Maya didn’t rise to Bram’s abrasive attitude because unlike most people, she knew that anger was a secondary emotion to fear and hurt. For the first time in his life, someone reached out to Bram and a fragile friendship develops between the two. As the two people with nothing in common slowly discover one another- their companionship predictably becomes complicated with a tangle of confusing emotions; feelings that neither of them really want to analyze; jealousies and something that feels like love but is far too overwhelming than they’d ever predicted it would be.
