I wrote this poem for an English assignment. In this poem I wrote how I imagine the days were in the past, when everyone judged and discriminated each other based on their skin color and how they looked. It's about a group of happy children and a younger black child hiding under a tree. The children laugh and scream at him, except for the narrator. She wants to protect him and befriend the child. I made the narrator this way because I believe that there must be someone who felt bad for the slaves and had a pure heart.
